Mock exams

Throughout the year, Black Stream Education offers online mock exams for students sitting 11+, 13+, ISEB, Common Entrance, GCSE/IGCSE, A Level, International A Level, and other exams. These can be sat in most subjects. The sessions take place weekly, although weekly participation isn't required. Attendance can be weekly, fortnightly, monthly, half termly, or termly, depending on what suits your child, their needs and their availability best.

Your child will receive constructive feedback following each mock exam, so that they know where to focus their efforts in the most efficient and beneficial ways.

We also offer Exam Skills sessions, where your child is taught skills specifically tailored to their individual needs. These sessions work on:

  • preparing for an exam (day before and day of),
  • how to get the best out of their time in the exam room
  • self care after the exam (day of and following day)
  • as well as how to deal with exam and results anxiety.

Our Exam Skills sessions pair perfectly with the mock exams to practice and embed the skills learned.

If your child's exam type is not listed above, we may still be able to help.

Schools and organisations

We've worked with a number of different schools, fostering agencies, psychologists, psychiatrists, speech therapists, youth workers and more, in a few different capacities.

As education consultants, we advise on curricula, accessibility, diversity, resources and provisions. As tutors, we can work with you to make sure a young person is receiving the comprehensive and rounded support that they need. As SEND/SEMH and homeschool specialists, we do what we can to make sure that the child's and family's voices are heard and listened to in the form of advocacy, teamwork with other practitioner, reports, letters, etc. Having the unique position as education professionals in young people's homes, we can feed into CAF meetings and other safeguarding procedures as needed.

Prior to the Covid Pandemic, we offered packages to schools for tutoring and additional support. Although these are still available and completely tailorable to your students' needs as well as your budgets, we also have an offer for Pupil Premium students under the School-led Tuition Grants programme.

For more information and to discuss how we can work together, please use our contact form to get in touch.
